Environmental Anguish

Environmental anguish is the pain that we feel when confronted with the worldwide destruction of natural habitats and all that they contain. It is akin to how we might mourn for one we have lost, but instead of mourning for a singular being, we mourn the loss of entire ecosystems. We mourn the loss of every animal, plant, fungi, and bacterium that made up the ecosystem. We mourn the loss of every way that they interacted with each other. We feel existential anguish at the thought of what their loss means for every other being on earth.
